Dear Families,

we decided to write to you because it is important for us to give you the necessary and/or appropriate clarifications on our history, our brand, our product, the pasta that has been on the table of millions of people every day since 1946.

Producing pasta for us is above all a gesture of great responsibility.
Starting with the raw materials: Poiatti is the Italian pasta obtained entirely from Sicilian wheat. Pasta is at the heart of the Mediterranean diet and Sicily has always supplied the best grain. In our mills, where we process the wheat, the semolina is selected and subsequently made into pasta in our only factory located in Mazara del Vallo in western Sicily.

Mazara del Vallo is the city where our factory is located.
Mazara has been the city of the Poiatti family for three generations now.
We have no other offices, other establishments. We say this to clear up a misunderstanding: there is another brand, almost identical to ours, but it has nothing to do with us, with our history, our tradition, our way of understanding pasta.

It is important, dear friends: Poiatti has its exclusive headquarters in Mazara del Vallo; uses only Sicilian durum wheat, processed directly. L’altra pasta, whose brand has the same surname as ours, is a totally different business reality.

We are inimitable and have been for more than half a century, since 1946, when Domenico Poiatti founded the family business. That’s why in our pasta packages with our Poiatti brand you will also find the wording “Inimitable. Since 1946”.

Many of you have written to us over the years both to appreciate our pasta and to get clarifications on the brand that uses the same surname Poiatti (homonymous).

Many times, in fact, the packages of our pasta are placed next to the packages of the homonymous brand so the differences are not immediately noticed. It is therefore out of fairness towards you that we have decided – respecting everyone’s work, of course, but above all respecting the trust of families – to clarify things.

Remember that:
Poiatti has been inimitable since 1946
Poiatti uses only 100% Sicilian wheat
Poiatti, it’s just “Poiatti” without adding a name.
