On 24 October 1921 Domenico Poiatti was born, the founder of Poiatti S.p.A., pioneer of the pasta industry in Sicily.
Domenico Poiatti leaves Pian D'Artogne (Brescia) to do his military service in Mazara del Vallo. Here he falls b> in love with Eleonora, who will become his wife.
Domenico and Eleonora get married on January 14th.
After an experience at his uncle's mill in Val Camonica, he returned to Mazara del Vallo and founded a small factory for the production of durum wheat semolina pasta.
With the advent of distribution, Poiatti pasta entered supermarkets and crossed the borders of the island, increasing formats, but without ever losing quality.
Domenico Poiatti dedicated his entire life to pasta, until 26 September 2000, when he passed away. The company passes to his children.
Poiatti's high quality and supply chain standards earned him the certification on traceability in the agri-food supply chains (UNI EN ISO22005:2008).
Poiatti production is increasingly linked to the enhancement of the territory and the company opens to the third generation of the family, with the election of Mariella Maggio (daughter of Annamaria Poiatti) as President.
